I'm a member of the Prints Quality Control Staff along with $spinegrinder. I review print submissions before they are added to an artist's store..

My name is Bryan Gibbs (call me Bryan, I insist). I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada—born and raised—with my girlfriend of 8 years, her 12-year-old son, and the newest addition, Jaidyn Nicole turning 2 this coming April. I work in the print industry and have done so for 12 years; my specialty is Preflight/Prepress.

I started out as a coder and techie, but over the years I've been drawn away from coding and into graphic design - our firm runs off orders of CDs and DVDs for our customers, with varying levels of artwork on the discs, and usually with custom packaging too. Most of my work now is preparing artwork for CDs and DVDs to be printed in-house (got a massive offset-printer now specially for that purpose!) and for wallets, wraps, booklets and inlays which get printed by other firms for us. I now have most of the keyboard shortcuts for Illustrator burned into my brain! :lol:

Nope. I only just heard of this book a few months ago, when someone asked me the very same question you have. It seems to be a simple coincidence.

Is the book any good? I've seen the cover now, of course, but I don't really know anything about it.
